Okay, this time next week I'll either look like Brad Pitt or Rodney Dangerfield. I'm secretly hoping for Rodney because, let's face it, looking like Brad would just be too much pressure!
I've done a ton of research so I have a pretty good idea on what to expect. I'm not stressing ... actually looking forward to it being over. The only thing still up in the air is whether I'll be having upper and lower jaw surgery along with genioplasty or just the lower jaw surgery and genioplasty. I'll find out for sure this Friday when I get the surgical hooks.
I'm *NOT* looking forward to that.

Hey Bill, the surgery's coming up soon! Are you excited? :)
The "elevate your head while sleeping" thing only lasts about two weeks or less, I think. It'd become such routine for me since the surgery that I'd almost forgotten I'm usually a side sleeper, like you. Last night, finally, at five weeks post op, I remembered to turn over on my side before dozing off. That felt good!
All the swelling, nasal congestions, pain, et cetera, will only be temporary. Congratulations on getting accepted into the program (what a LONG process!!). You'll be happy you did it. Post some photos! :)
I'm linking to your blog from mine as well.
Bill,
Wow, I'm glad you aren't as freaked out as I would be. You really have done your research that is clear. I think that I'd be super stressed out, but you of course are the calm cool collected one. That zip n squeeze bag looks like the juice bags my kids drink. So did you buy the Ikea bed yet?
Hey Kristen. You know, I am getting a bit excited ... 5 days and counting. Not nervous excited though. I can't wait to see the end result -- which I know won't be until after the swelling and bruising goes away.
Hiya Aixa! Yup, bought the Ikea bed and it's all set up. Not sure exactly how long I'll have to sleep inclined but, like Kristen, most people I've spoken to said about two weeks or so.
